I am a professor of Geography at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  I am a cultural, historical, and political geographer with research interests in technology; landscape; twentieth-century US imperialism and geopolitics, especially in the Philippines and Asia/Pacific; 19th and 20th century US science; history of scientific exploration and cartography; nuclear landscapes; and geographies of war and peace.  I use this site to post announcements for events, courses, and publications and to make some of my research* and teaching* materials available to those who might be interested.*
